What is Biologics Express?
Biologics Express (by Aperio Continuum) is a specialist dermatology telehealth service designed for patients with chronic inflammatory skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa, and alopecia areata.
We provide expert review, treatment planning, and biologic therapy management through secure online consultations.
Who is Biologics Express for?
This service is designed for:
- Patients already diagnosed with a chronic inflammatory skin condition
- Patients currently prescribed and using biologic therapies
- Patients seeking specialist input without long public wait times
It is not be suitable for urgent or undiagnosed conditions requiring in-person specialist assessment.
How does the process work?
- Complete online registration
- Complete a structured intake form (including photos and questionnaires)
- A specialist reviews your case
- If appropriate, you will receive an ongoing prescription for your biologic.
- You will also receive a letter to your GP and/or treating specialist informing them of your biologic renewal, as well as instructions regarding continued follow up with your regular specialist.
Is Telehealth as good as in-person consultations?
For many stable, well controlled chronic skin conditions, telehealth can be safe and effective, especially when supported by high-quality images and structured clinical information.
Every case is reviewed by a specialist and if there is concern regarding the safety or appropriateness of telehealth - you will be advised to seek an in-person consultation

Biologics Express is not a replacement for your regular GP or Specialist.
We strongly encourage ongoing involvement of your regular clinicians.
Why do I Need to Upload Photos?
Photos are essential for accurate assessment of your skin condition.
They are also essential to ensure we are providing safe and appropriate care for your condition.
We provide structured guidance to ensure:
- Consistent angles
- Good lighting
- Clinically useful images
This helps us make safe and effective decisions remotely.
How is my data stored and protected?
Your information is:
- Stored securely on Australian servers using encrypted systems
- Handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws
- Never shared without your consent (unless required by law)
We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously.
Appointments and Pricing
Each Consultation for Biologic Renewal costs $99.
This is a private service, and Medicare rebates do not apply.
All costs are clearly displayed before booking.
Do I Need a Referral?
No Referral from your GP is Required
Referrals are needed in order to access the Medicare Rebate for Specialist Consultation.
Medicare Rebates do not apply to asynchronous telehealth services (including Biologics Express)
How Quickly Will I Get A Response?
Reviews are undertaken within 48 hours.
Urgent Issues should not be managed through this service.
All urgent issues should be referred in person to your regular specialist, regular GP or your local emergency department.
Limitations and Emergencies:
This service is not for emergencies.
If you have:
- Rapidly worsening symptoms
- Signs of infection
- Severe pain or systemic illness
Please seek urgent assessment through your GP, emergency department, or local health service.
What are the limitations of telehealth?
Telehealth cannot:
- Replace full physical examination in all cases
- Perform procedures or biopsies
- Assess certain complex or unclear diagnoses
If needed, we will direct you to in-person care.
Do I need blood tests?
Some medications (especially biologics) require ongoing monitoring.
We will advise exactly what is needed and coordinate with your GP and regular specialist where appropriate.
Can you provide repeat prescriptions?
Such medications will only be provided if related to the management of the primary inflammatory condition (eg psoriasis, eczema).
These include topical therapies (eg steroid creams) and adjuvant treatments (spironolactone).
The final decision regarding additional prescriptions is at the discretion of the specialist and in the best interests of patient safety.
Regular prescription for other medication such as blood pressure and cholesterol tablets should be directed to your General Practitioner.
